In Tuscania you will see two famous Romanesque churches of inestimable value in the panorama of the Italian artistic heritage, the basilicas of San Pedro and Santa Maria the best built on the hill of San Pedro, today outside the medieval city.
 
Tuscania, the city, like many others nearby, emerges on a rocky promontory between the Marta and Capecchio, which dominates the Marta Valley (a path of communication, from prehistoric times, between Lake Bolsena and the Tyrrhenian Sea, close to the current Tarquinia).
